Setting up a blog about my ipup 0.1 experience

#1 Post by lj51 »

Hi everyone,

During the past couple of months I have decided to make my own Puplet. It's base is ipup 0.1 and I have contacted Todd about my plans. Thought it would be nice to share my experiences in a Blog. I am naming it RevPup. Have searched the forum, Googled Puppy, and the wiki in a few places to make sure that no one else is using this name. I will give credit to Barry and Todd for the fine work that they are doing in Puppy. RevPup is for my personal use for now, am just sharing how and what I am doing with it.

The reason for the Forum post is so that I don't accidentally step on anyone's toes by using this name or procedure. So if there are no objections from anyone then I will post the url in the announcements section in a few days. Thanks - lj51

Sounds like a great plan to detail your journey in making a puplet in a blog. Any details on what you are planning to release such as puppy version, window manager or desktop environment, browser, extra nice touches, etc?

Good Luck and keep us posted!

Does that stand for Reverend? The closest we have to that so far is Rev JaDy, who is the author of PupWin98: http://www.freeveda.org/linux/puppy/PupWin98.htm

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your interest in this project, it's much appreciated. As far as the details i'm still working on that but i'm almost there. The Rev in RevPup stands for Revolutionary as in the American Revolutionary War. I am a historical reenactor amoung other things.
Will keep everyone posted on the progress and will post the links to the Blog soon. lj51
