HP 930c printer not detected

I happen to drop by my friend's office. I noticed she's still using windows 98. And she has problems with spyware & such stuff. I told her we can try Puppy linux on her PC without affecting her files. I booted Puppy, and to my surprise, it detected all hardware except for one thing, the printer. It is a HP 930c connected via parallel port. My question is, does puppy support such brand of hardware? I tried Printer Wizard, but I can't see the printer's name. What will I do? Would someone be kind enough to help? :?

I am new to linux.

Have you tried using the HP DeskJet 900 series driver in the wizard, sometimes you can get printers working using a different driver.

the pcl-900 has been reported to work for that printer

if that doesn't work try:

http://www.linuxprinting.org/printer_list.cgi

If you have trouble following the steps in the printer wizard here are some tips.

When you are adding the printer in PDQ make sure that you type in lp0 for a parallel port printer.
In the setup for the printer you may have to remove the % from the path and also you may have to tick EOF.
