How to enable right Alt key, Alt-Space, Windows keys, et. al

#1 Post by Glitchman »

Is there any way to enable the functionality of the right Alt key? At present, it appears to be disabled altogether. Is it possible to make Alt-Space, Alt-Tab, and Alt-Esc work as it does in Windows or at least the way they work in most other UNIXes? Also, is it possible to give functionality to the 3 Windows enhanced keys on most keyboards? Thanks.

You mean they don't work for you? It usually depends on the window manager. JWM has alt-tab enabled by default, and you can add the others. Pretty sure Ice has options, too.

Alt-Esc has never worked in any version of Puppy I have tried (since 0.98) nor have the right Alt key or the 3 Windows "enhanced" keys ever functioned.

I use fvwm95, mainly because it behaves more like the window managers I am used to in other UNIXes (although middle-click and right-click behaviors are swapped on title bars of windows.) Alt-Tab at least works to some extent. JWM is way too awkward for me.
