How to auto login with user account, not root?

#1 Post by Browny »

Hi all,

Is there any possibility to auto login in to the puppy217 with the user account. That is now puppy is automatically login as root. i want to auto login to puppy with my own user account. For that how i have to create the user name, how to write the script to auto login with that user account?

Where can i get the source package for autologinroot executable? Could any one of you help me?

Thanks in advance,
Browny

I got the source code from the following root

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 006&t=5991

But when login with the spot user account, there is no access to the scripts. even the console not getting execute. No icons assigned to the desktop applications.

Perhaps access to those scripts requires root privileges. Just a wild guess. I have never run Puppy as anything but root.
