PostPosted: Sat 27 Oct 2007, 01:50    Post subject: remaster with xfce

ive been using this xfce since its first post and id like to thank and congratulate every one who posted. i didnt have any major problems and the ones i did have were dealt with within a day or two. what a great
week to use puppy301+xfce.

so the point of this post is not so much about xfce, but more to do with the .sfs after a remaster. so i got my puppy the way i like it. i wanted to make an iso (so when i break this one its an easy fix)

the remaster booted into jwm, with some ugly theme that id never seen before. so i tried to start from command line, again, no dice. i checked my xinitrd thinking that the remaster rebuilt it form cd. but it still has rox -p.............PuppyPin line commented out.

also i have wine sfs on the remaster and it seems to function.

any ideas?

im going to try again and see if i can workaround this little hicup.

so thats were im at for now, thanks everyone

ps. i did a 301 frugal in qemu and its working pretty good. maybe ill post it one day, its pretty alpha, i made it this morning.

Has anybody created some custom launcher buttons on the taskbar/panel and have them revert to a generic launcher after a reboot? What I mean is that, after the reboot, the custom icon is replaced by the default and the program to launch is cleared out. This doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be annoying.

PS: I'm using the xfce sfs file. Frugal-like install booting w/CD.

floburg,

I was wondering if you would be willing to move to XFCE 4.4.2 ? I have this posted for testing here....

Not sure if this will help, but I would like to get some feedback.
