run once apps

In the interest of a smaller puppy, would it be possible to have some seldom used apps be a "download run and delete" type of thing? I mean when you click on the link the app would download and auto-install to some temp place then run. On exit it would delete itself. Or at least install to a RAMdrive so it goes away when you reboot.

I can think of a BUNCH of Winblows apps and games I wish were like that! Things I only use once every 2 months or so just sitting there wasting space.
I wouldnt mind waiting a minute or so for it to download.

The problem is with people who

A: have dial up
Even though they might be a fast download, you'd have to first connect to the internet (assuming nobody's on the phone).

or B: Have no internet at all, and got their puppy from a friend. Also, laptops don't always have internet access.

I can think of another reason why this probably wouldn't be such a good idea... Web server overhead. As the popularity of Puppy increases, the use-once apps would begin to consume an increasing amount of server bandwidth. What if that server went down for some reason (hardware failure or the like)?

Why not just load all of the occasional-use stuff to a cd (perhaps rewritable) or a usb stick or a cf card? Load it from there to a temporary location that is cleared after reboot.
