Introducing Proto-Pack.
I went a bit crazy with the colors, but it all seems to work. :)

Green-Tripack is a variation of Blue-Tripack; all other colors are the same.

bg-1.pet contains two single-color backgrounds that work well with most of my JWM themes.
(posted above and on previous page)
And they're easy on the eyes--neither too dark nor too light. :)

For these, I combined colors from other JWM themes with ttuuxxx's "Tar" theme.

I modified a stock theme (Black-vg I believe).

My goal was a pleasant, dark-grey, look. Readability was also important; it should be easy to see which window is open, and simultaneously the names of your minimized windows. While I'm generally pleased with the results, I may well change it a little in the future (perhaps that makes this a beta). Hopefully somebody else will have a use for it.

Code: Select all

<JWM>
<!-- WINDOW BORDER PROPERTIES -->
 <WindowStyle>
     <Font>DejaVu Sans-11</Font>
     <Width>3</Width>
     <Height>22</Height>
     <Active>
        <Text>#CAECF8</Text>
        <Title>#707272:#333737</Title>
    <!--  <Corner>#D3D8D8</Corner> -->
       <Outline>#707272</Outline>
     </Active>
     <Inactive>
        <Text>#676767</Text>
        <Title>#cccccc:#9F9E99</Title>
	<!--       <Corner>#D3D8D8</Corner> -->
        <Outline>#FEFDEC</Outline>
     </Inactive>
 </WindowStyle>

 <!-- Clock Style - control format & colors of tray clock -->

	<ClockStyle>
       <Font>DejaVu Sans-11:bold</Font>
       <Foreground>#CAECF8</Foreground>
       <Background>#707272</Background>
    </ClockStyle>

<!-- TRAY PROPERTIES -- FG controles button text -->

<TrayStyle>
<Font>DejaVu Sans-11</Font>
<Foreground>#1A1A1A</Foreground>
<Background>#707272</Background>
<Opacity>0.85</Opacity>
</TrayStyle>

<TrayButtonStyle>

<Foreground>white</Foreground>
<Background>#D7D7D7</Background>
<ActiveForeground>white</ActiveForeground>

<!-- BACKGROUND KEY BINDING -->

</JWM>

I edited the "colors" file too

Code: Select all

#see /usr/local/jwmconfig2/theme-switcher script.

wdz10 theme

#312 Post by recobayu »

This is my wdz10. The only it's problem is, we can't resize the border easily because I set the WindowStyle width=1. Is there anyone can solve the width=1 but easy to resize? Thanks.

JWM Themes Exchange

Looks great. Just wanted to say that one of my favorite ICON sets was called, I think, "Human". In Puppy 4.31 if I recall correctly. Seems a shame that things like that have to come and go so often.

Thanks... I'll try "VISTA" on a testing installation of Tahrpup..

JWM Clearlooks theme

#314 Post by David Andrew »

I'm a big fan of Linux's Clearlooks theme, and decided to make one for JWM:

Image

Just extract the 4 files to:

/root/.jwm/themes

Ideally, I would have added the matching buttons, but this does not seem to be possible with my version (using Lighthouse64).

Attached is the JWM version of my flat Win9x Modern GTK theme. GTK theme to be downloaded from here:

The JWM version is mostly the same as the Openbox one, except with round corners.

Some more JWM themes.

#317 Post by alaskalinuxuser »

Hi everybody!
I really like using JWM as my default window manager. I found your exchange site and really like some of your work! I had previously made several new JWM themes on my blog, and I put out a new theme every Friday. I hope it is okay if I share that here.

For instance:

Batman
https://alaskalinuxuser.wordpress.com/2 ... -friday-6/

Iron Man
https://alaskalinuxuser.wordpress.com/2 ... -friday-3/

Superman
https://alaskalinuxuser.wordpress.com/2 ... -friday-4/

Tron, Hulk, and others. Feel free to leave a comment, use the themes, or convert them into the "pet" format you use and share them again here. I use Debian, so they are all jwmrc files.

Thanks!

JWM Themes.

#318 Post by alaskalinuxuser »

Greetings.
I have been making JWM themes for a while, but on my Debian computer. My most common visitor, however, seems to use Puppy Linux. Is there a way to convert the .jwmrc file I use into a (forgive me if this is wrong) dotpet file you all can use?

I just started a series on Street Fighter, and I would like to be able to share it with the most people. Thanks in advance. Also, if this is the wrong thread, please point me in the right direction.

Hello, alaskalinuxuser.

I believe that I can say -- for myself and for all Puppy-ists -- that you are
quite welcome to share on this forum anything Puppy-related, even if it's
only a minor element of Puppy, such as a jwm theme.

And if it's not Puppy-related, you can post on this forum too, because we
have a large, sometimes serious, sometimes zany :) , Off-Topic section !

Our only condition is that you'll have to thoroughly try out at least one
Puppy Linux variant in the coming month and write us a 100-page book
on your experience before Xmas! (Just kidding! Now where's that tongue-
in-cheek icon?) :lol: (I hope you have a sense of humor?!) :)

Welcome aboard, alaskalinuxuser! Keep those jwm themes coming, too!

Bye for now!

musher0

~~~~~~~~~
PS. Concerning the Puppy-fication of your themes in a *.pet archive, I
wouldn't worry too much about it. I think that archiving each theme in
a regular zip file will be enough. Just add the mention:
"Unzip this theme in /root/.jwm/themes."
as an attachment comment, and all jwm users should understand.
