I have converted this .pet into ch-fbreader-0.10.5-i486.sfs (usr=puppy, passwd=linux) for use in ChoicePup4.1.2 or any other Puppy4.xx.
Great program and good book download links.
Thanks, J

ch-fbreader-0.10.7-i486.sfs is now available in the ChoicePup collection.
cheers, works well now. The new version even seems to display my books better. Which is odd as nothing like that is mentoned on the FBReader news page... Perhaps I imagined it due to my brain melting from the many hours I spent trying to fix somethng on a more mainstream but strangly badly documented distro.
Ah well. Thanks again.

its somewhat strange that if you look at the formats on this page http://www.fbreader.org/docs/formats.php that most of the common formats aren't support and the more exotic formats are, what a strange reader this is, but I guess It closes the gaps that abiword and epdfviewer left open.
But still I think they should fully support chm, djvu, and of course full pdf.

libgio?
I installed FBReader 0.12.1 under 4.3.1 and got this abort:
(1) I had libgio-2.20.1-i586.pet (which you need for Scite) installed when I first got the message.
(2) Research here on the forum that libgio-2.20.1-i586.pet is not required for 4.3.1 so I uninstalled it using the Puppy Package Manager.
(3) Scite still worked but the FBReader error stayed the same.
(4) Further research on the forum indicated the existence of another libgio pet here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 1&start=45. The direct download link is: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 543f7351f4
(5) After installing said libgio pet both FBReader 0.12.1 and Scite 2.0.1 started without a hitch.
So either I screwed up my libgio installation before or things changed under 4.3.1. Whatever.
Code: Select all
# FBReader
loading /usr/lib/zlibrary/ui/zlui-gtk.so
/usr/lib/libgio-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_poll

fbreader-0.12.8.pet is qt4-based.
please make another gtk-based.
please make another gtk-based.
Attempted to install this in Boxpup 431 without success.
Searched for libQtGui.so.4 (which is supposed to be included in qt4-4.3.4-p2.pet), but to no avail; I cannot find the lib or the .pet.
Still, I am thankful for your work on this, Muggins! Thank you.
