#1 Post by Vaklin »

Surely stupid question from me, but what can I do?

Where I can download compiled module videodev.ko for Puppy 3.01? I have downloaded gspca, xawTV, but no inside this driver. Please help to my car to drive back in safety way. :)

Really nothing. I just checked my LiveCD downloaded a week before and here is not media directory at all. Can you pack it (zip, rar, tgz, bz2 doesn't matter) and send it to vaklin@mail.bg?

@stargazer,
I don't have that module either, but I don't have kernel 2.6.21.7 either.
I use the 3.01 retro

@vaklin,
You probably downloaded the 3.01 retro which doesn't have this driver.
For what do you need this driver?

Have downloaded from main Puppy page. The download was represented as "Last stable edition" or something similar.

I need to use it for the WEB camera which will be back camera in my auto.

type in a terminal

Code: Select all

modprobe videodev
look again in /lib/modules/2.6.21.7/kernel/drivers/media/video/videodev.ko and it should be there

Installation was made from LiveCD downloaded a week before from the main Puppy page.
I have used Puppy universal installer and made a full instalation.

Where is the reason to lie you?

@stargazer

Thank you. Preferred to have a module with the same kernel version. Possible to use this one too, but this will get 2-3 more hours reading how to walk around the version check.

Doesn't matter. Here is so late and should go in the bed. Have a nice night. Till tomorrow.

BTW my kernel is 2.6.21.7
