Firefox has already addressed this in the time it would take Micro$oft to get the message that there is even a problem through their massive bureacracy -- but awareness and action are key to protection.

In summary: Clicking on a link from a mail client (or other software with Firefox set as default) can allow shell scripts to be run. Linux/Unix only.

So that means I am perfectly safe, as I never use mail clients, or anything else that launches Firefox. 8) I'm not going to bother upgrading at all until the next Puppy comes out.

Also, in response to the final lines of the post you linked to: IE has been out for longer, so it should have fewer bugs being found. Duh. Yet they have failed to fix the "bugs" involving page rendering. Hmmm.....
