Hi,

I am a Linux newbie who has just installed Puppylinux 2.17. I would like to read Chinese with my Seamonkey web browser, write an occasional Chinese letter (Simplified and Traditional) with Abiword/email program and search a Chinese term on the Internet.

Using Seamonkey, Chinese characters on the web pages show up as square boxes with numbers at the corners. How can I activate the browser to read Chinese ?

Which and how do I install a suitable Input Engine to write Chinese? I only know Roman Pinyin input.

I am afraid I do not know Linux commands to appreciate what and when to do things. So I would appreciate your advice and help.

Many thanks.

Hi, ambercomm,

We have many ways to solve your problems about Chinese support for Puppy 217, first, you could download ly2101's Chinese support .pet and install it, after doing that, your Puppy might be able to read and write in Chinese. Second, you could download Puppy Linux Chinese edition: E-PUP Linux and NOP 217. They have been mostly localized for Chinese users and are much easier to use.

Welcome to Chinese E-PUP Linux forum, we have suppot for all Chinese Puppy Linux(E-PUP Linux) users,

E-PUP Linux,
