Dear Barry,
I do have a huge problem since I attempted to test run the 1.04 iso version.
The notebook ran very happily suse 9.3 until this test.
I downloaded the suggested iso, wrote it on a cd with k3b on that very notebook. Booted from that freshly written cd.
Since I know that ACPI on the 532 is not entirely supported I entered '2 (no acpi)' at the boot prompt. The system went dark almost instantly, and ever since never came back.
Not even a normal power on attempt does not even bring up the bios messages. The system appears to do three very faint beeps. It's almost as the notebook has been put in a permanent not-to-start-bios (wake up) mode. HD and cd spin happily without any action.
I even reset the cmos by removing the little round battery for a while. Without joy.
Any help as to what this could be and how to revert it would be greatly appreciated. I live in Auckland New Zealand. So if convenient we could have a go over the phone.
Please reply to jos@basicstuff.co.nz Thank you.
Regards
Johannes
