I am wanting to block hackers from knowing where and what I'm doing, and give myself
an extra tool bfor security.
So if anybody has advice, please tell!!!
Does this look right & will it work with puppy?
a simple "echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all" will do the
trick... to turn it back on, simply
"echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all"
EDIT> I don't use neither of the firewall's provided with puppy,
I use Guest Too's Quicktables dotpup,
http://www.murga.org/%7Epuppy/download.php?id=826
EDIT> LOL. Thank you rarsa, I had the feeling that I would not be targeted,
but I have stepped up my security with puppy, and one can only want to make sure.

Heaven is on the way, until then let's get the truth out!
klhtherevolutionist,
I have bad news for you.
Knowing your connection configuration, disabling the ping echo with that instruction is useless for you.
People from the the internet ping your router (dsl modem) not your puppy computer. If you use DHCP, once in the router they know what your address is.
Second. Preventing pinging does not protect you of anything. They can do port scans to see what ports you have open.
Third. (and I'm not being facetious) I know that you really believe in many conspiracy theories, but I can guarantee you that unless you have made enemies with a hacker that wants to target you, noone will make you a random target.
