Lobster,

I appreciate the designation as Deputy Secretary, but I shall be down and out from about the 5th of October until sometime around the 20th - changing locations for the winter.

May a withdraw my name from consideration because of this?

I'm going to have to miss the party because I'll be camping that weekend. It's the Boy Scout Fall Camporee. Hopefully we will bring in another pile of blue ribbons. :P

3 Items

Here is Raffy talking about

1. Paltalk (Edit: See this article and this implementation using WinE.)
2. How I got into Puppy
3. Qualifications of Chair

(4.2 MB MP3 file)

Just like open source software - we get a more stable following if we are able to discuss things openly, what do you think?

I must admit it is difficult to broadcast about serious stuff, such as (3) above, but perhaps it is part of the commitment. Hats off to you, guys, who can do that so easily (Lobster, KhlRev, and dvw86).

For the others, let us hear your broadcast, too!

Thanks Raffy 8)
Paltalk requires MS Windows as far as I know.

I am working on a simple communication program for Puppy - it will take two weeks to get it working (assuming we can - will have some programming help next week) May need some web space 100 meg to a gig to start with.
Basically it is called DogBone (from cockney rhyming slang - give the dog a bone/phone) The idea is to easily allow the recording and drop-in and downloading of voice messages. A sort of on-line answering machine. Another way is to to use the beta podomatic.com proposed by klhrevolutionist

I am quite happy to propose Barry as Chair - I proposed him as Treasurer as he already has a working Puppy account. I proposed you as chair as the Foundation is your idea.

Yep other podcasts/pawedcasts.broadcasts would be great
Good to hear from you :)

I enjoyed the last weekend so I will be there again this time ......rattling on about multi-session!!

Lobster, are you talking London time?
Is London on Gweenwich time?
If so, I'm 8 hours ahead of you.... that's okay, I should be able
to dialup sometime in your Friday evening.

Time

4 PM New York (daylight saving) is 9 PM GMT (standard) which must be 5 AM Perth and Manila, and 12 noon Washington state (daylight saving). So it is possible for most everyone to join this time window. Cheers :D

Will bring you a volcano treat :!:

Will bring you a volcano treat
Hi Raffy,

Is your treat called ceniza in Spanish?

Sorry! I couldn't resist repeating the first word I learned in Spanish over 40 years ago.

Dewdrop

PS: ceniza in Spanish is ash (as in volcanic ash) in English.

Smell

Duh, it should smell like ash, but aren't volcanoes supposed to smell like rotten eggs? (sulphur) Then have one of those ready in your room to complete the sensual effects, and also set your thermostat to 40 degrees C :D

For those who wonder what 40C equals, it is this....

40 degree Celsius = 104 degree Fahrenheit

That is hot in any language!!!

PS: and yes, volcanoes have a very strong odor of "rotten" eggs - sulphur

So, 104 F. + "rotten egg" smell + inside a 12x12 Foot room = Meltdown

''

See all ya'll at the party starting Friday

Based on whenever . . . It is just kinda pot luck . . . drift in and out . . . London is on Gweenwich time but if you set a time, someone in the world prefers another time - so be it - another time it is . . .

Okay, rather than record my voice (I still don't have a working
microphone) I have written down some thoughts:

...something to mull over and discuss during the party.

:)

Puppy 2 sounds good. Talking of rumours I do hear that Puppy 2 is called Tmxxine Linux but probably in another dimension.

Great statement. I liked the bit about symbols . . . certainly something to use as a basis

:)

Ceniza

Great !

Hey, Dewdrop, don't you think CENIZA might be a good name for a Puppy?

Puppy Party

Hi Raffy,

Yes! Ceniza would be a great name - and if you have 2 puppies, you could name the other one Brea (Spanish) = Tar (English).

Tar is the black sticky substance that we use in the US to seal rooftops, or fill up cracks in roads.
