Extras for Puppy 2.12 - 2.16

Most drivers attached to this thread were updated in June 2009 and shifted to a new thread:

I have been using Puppy 2.14R 1.01 with my ASUS EeePc. Thank you to pakt, Dougal and Tempestuous. Puppy 2.14R 1.01 works well with the EeePc, One needs to use Xorg video driver. I have tried the MadWiFi pet and it does work. I was able to connect to home wireless networking using WPA2 encryption with the Network wizard. I will test the wire Ethernet module that Tempestuous just posted and report on it.

I installed and test the atl2 kernel module that Tempestuous posted. It works. After using the Puppy package manager to install the package, one has to reboot the machine. The driver is not recognized by the Network Wizard. One has to use in console (RXVT) "modprobe atl2" to install the module. Network wizard will then have connection eth0 and can set it up for proper operation.

The network-wizard uses a fixed list of network drivers (/etc/networkdrivers or something).

Thanks Dougal for the information. The file is networkmodules located in /etc directory. I have modified the file by adding a line for the atl2 module. I have a gzip archive of the file. Hopefully, it will upload. To use it, just unzip it in a directory other than /etc. Rename the existing networkmodules to networkmodules.org and then copy the new networkmodules to the /etc directory. I did test the modification on my EeePc and it worked. I hope this helps.

Regarding the modem in the ASUS Eee, apparently it's a plug-in unit; a Conexant RD02-D110. Most Eee's are not supplied with this unit, and I have read that once installed, there is a bios upgrade necessary to enable it.

I downloaded ASUS's driver package for this modem, but the package overwrites the ALSA snd-hda-intel and snd-hda-codec modules, which might result in AUDIO problems.
Send me a PM if you want to try this modem driver.

Here is the "nozomi" driver for certain models of GlobeTrotter GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA wireless modems.
Refer to the compatibility list here http://www.pharscape.org/

This package installs the necessary device nodes; /dev/noz...

After installing this dotpet, load the module
