It looks like you don't have the application.

Earlier in this thread, Muggins suggested downloading and installing this: unrar.pup

thanks it works for me. But doesn't it work with long rar filenames with spaces? when a filename is too long I rename it in 1.rar.

At mine puppy (puppy linux 4.1 retro) unrar wasn't installed and I installed it from the offcial repository of puppy 3 (pet_packages-3,filename ''unrar-3.4.3.pet'') which worked fine.

How to get XArchive to extract a .rar file automatically.

#20 Post by TwoPuppies »

Most later versions of Puppy Linux come with unrar preinstalled by default. If it does not seem to be present in yours, you can download the .pet package from:

http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... h&id=11097

If you want the extraction process to work automatically when you click on a .rar file (as opposed to using the terminal), you can use XArchive as follows:

Right-click on a .rar file.
Select the option "Set run action".
At the bottom, enter the command:

xarchive "$1"

Next time you click on a .rar file, XArchive should open automatically.

Puppy Linux, and the sort with four legs and a tail.[/color]
