Xsane .pnm output kills desktop icons when seen by Rox

#1 Post by boutland »

Experimenting with Xsane using an Agfa Snapscan e50. Scanned OK and output file saved into a directory as <whatever>.pnm (the default). When Rox is used to view this directory, the desktop icons disappear, requiring Ctl-Alt-BKSP and startx to restore. The .pnm file is not clicked on; just entering the directory produces the effect. Interestingly, if the file is saved as a .jpeg (and no doubt other types) this does not happen. Is this perhaps due to Rox's attempt to produce a thumbnail of the .pnm file? There is some evidence, but not consistent, that if you rename the .pnm to a different suffix, or non at all, the problem does not occur.
