ProCon Latte Password Question |
|
When I set up ChurchPup on our desktop PC and then opened FireFox I accepted the suggested installation of ProCon Latte.
My wife is being blocked from accessing what should be an OK site but cannot change the setting because it is requesting a password.
I do not recall setting a password. Can someone PM me with the procedure to reset the password, please? (That info definitely does not belong not here on an open and search-able Forum!)

Could I uninstall and reinstall ProCon Latte and in that way reset the password?

Hi edoc,
Until I googled I had no idea what Procon Latte was. But surely the best place to find your answer is here:

Actually I retract my previous post...I couldn't find the developer's email address. But he/she does mention:

Sorry, you don't know me and I don't know you. How should I know that you're the actual "guardian?" |
So it looks like uninstall is your option.

Edoc, did you get and try my pm?
Uninstalling will not delete the passwords! Try typing about:config in the browser address bar and looking for a procon password entry and then modify or delete it.

For some reason I did not receive your PM, sorry.
Just tried about:config - tried cutting and pasting the existing long password string into ProCon, it was denied as incorrect.
Tried replacing the password and that did not work either.
I also tried closing and re-opening Firefox in case the old password was stuck in a buffer but that had no impact.
Thanks for trying ... any other ideas, please?

ChurchPup - Uninstalling ProCon Latte |
|
OK, repairing the ProCon Latte password problem seems hopeless.
Can someone tell me how to most safely uninstall the program and eliminate the interference to Internet access, please?
Perhaps the conflict between ProCon and the version of FireFox in ChurchPup may be resolved down the road but meanwhile my family is getting weary of blocked Christian sites.

You should be able to uninstall add-ons thru the menu Tools > Add-ons

The above advice and the following workedfor me: What needs to be added here is once you find ProCon highlight the Password line, then right click on it- you should get an option to delete, or reset it.
secondly- if you do the same sequence on ProCon add on itself- it will ask you to toggle. Click that and it should go from TRUE to False.
Your problem shoud be solved! If you now open toos and add-ons, ProCon willact just like a new set up.
