Downloaded pupwin98.zip but WinZip & EasyZip both say 'not a zip file'. Could the zip file be corrupt??
Also downloaded PupWin98.md5 but do not know how to use it. I think it has to be run from DOS but need exact command line syntax.
Thanks.
Jim
Unable to unzip PupWin98.zip/how do I use md5?
Assuming you're running from Win98, you can get an md5 program here:
http://www.freeveda.org/linux/puppy/md5.zip
If you don't want to rtfm, just start md5 and start file manager (Windows Explorer). Drag the PupWin98.md5 file from file manager to the md5 program on the task bar (still holding down the left button), the md5 program will come forward, continue dragging to the title bar of the md5 program, and wait for the files to be analyzed. Windows is so cumbersome.
"Not a zip file" most likely indicates a bad download. I just now tested with WinZip 7.0 and it's okay, but I prefer the ALZip program.
