Gparted won't make a partition bigger?

#1 Post by wenis »

Here is what I did I installed puppy to the IDE HDD by itself without a swap, Then I used parted magic to resize the /dev/hda to make it smaller and make a swap partition. When I made the swap partition I made it too big (my hdd is 10 gb i made the /dev/hda1 3 gb and the swap 7 gb). Okay my question is how do I resize the swap and put the remaining hdd space back into the /dev/hda1 primary partition? I tried to resize the swap and then resize the primary (dev/hda1) but the primary (dev/hda1) will not let me make it any bigger.

Thanks

You are doing this with the Parted Magic CD? Here are the steps.
1. Delete the swap partition.
2. Expand the hda1 partition until it almost fills the drive, but leave enough space for a swap partition.
3. Make a new swap partition out of the remaining space.
