Foundation goes into the Red

#1 Post by Lobster »

8) Be Kewl

The Foundation is starting out . . . I propose we go into the red . . .

Our first goal is to set up a server. OK well if Barry decides to set up a server and send The Puppy Foundation (do not worry you Puppys) the bill we will pay him back . . . ASAP

Make a loss I say - what say you? Wanna chat - or wanna server solution? Another thing we need to budget for is liability insurance . . .

Brought to you by cructacean radical solutions . . .

ok, so we would need a IBAN to transfer money to.
I could send 20 Euro for now.

Do you know if there is a fee to pay for international transfer?

IIRC, bank transfers within the EU are supposed to be free of charge. I have made bank payments from Sweden to Germany and they didn't charge me any fee.

Until we set up a Foundation Bank account and a PayPal account I would suggest that any monies be paid to Barrys account via his main Puppy site.

If we decide on a host, I can pay for it out of my PayPal account, if the
host accepts PayPal.
(so far only one I know of is jaguarpc.com)

Almost done

Then the decision about the new site is almost done :) The site is speedy and its prices very reasonable: $1/GB added bandwidth, wow.

As it supports up to 5 domains, may i hasten to add that puppypc.org is still available (FWIW).

raffy,
are you referring to jaguarpc?

cplater posted:

he only has mysql 4.0.22.
I think John Murga said he could get the wiki to run in an older mysql,
but just in case maybe we should ask them if they can provide a later
version of mysql.

I'm still looking around.
If anyone else reading this has a recommendation, now's the time to
mention it!

I would also add this as an option: http://prohosting.com/

I am using both their free cjb.cc service and their paid service.

Terrific support and stability.
