Flickering clock (not swearing)

#1 Post by mjg »

I've got a bizarre problem with my clock in Puppy 1.05.

It flickers between 12 hour time and 24 hour time. They're both accurate, thank goodness, but it's irritating.

I had correct time zone at installation. Can't say I noticed after that, then there was a power cut. After I got going again the time was flickering.

The time is fine in Windows and Kanotix on my hard drive. How can I adjust it to 12 or 24 hour time, one or the other?

Wait till you to try inventing a time machine - then time becomes very strange . . .

:) however - yes I have noticed something similar . . . at 3AM it is sometimes the previous day then later on (before 12AM it becomes the right day maybe) I know Barry recently updated the time feature in 1.0.5, so gonna spend some time [ahem . . .] with that to find out if corrected . . .

I still have the clock behaving erratically. I use IceWM. When I went to bed last night the clock was flashing between 12-hour time (no seconds) and 24-hour time with seconds.

This morning it shows 12-hour time with flashing seconds!

Is there any way to control how the time is displayed?

Have a look at /root/.icewm/themes

Some themes have a subfolder where the clock is customized.

You could copy a working clock to your preferred theme.
