Unable to compile midi-USB interface

hello,

i would like to connect a midi-usb interface using http://usb-midi-fw.sourceforge.net/, but:

Code:

# ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/ginstall -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no
checking for fxload... /bin/fxload
checking for udev version... ./configure: line 1740: udevinfo: command not found
none
configure: error: udev version 057 or later is required

is this used by, needed by, or available for 3.01?

udev is not in Puppy 3. Barry was considering it for Puppy 4 but I don't recall if it ended up in or out. A look through his developer blog might tell you.
