Amuc is a Linux application for composing and playing music.
Image

I've uploaded this, as a .pet, here(1663kbytes):

amuc-1.7-i486.pet

Run via Menu>Multimedia>Amuc

There are sample .wav files located in /usr/share/amuc/samples, and sample scores in /usr/share/amuc/tunes. To play a sample score click File>set current dir, then select the subdirectory tunes, (from the dropbox below), then click ok, then click File>load scorefile, and again, from the dropdown box, select a score & click ok. Then click the left-hand play button.

The help is set to open using defaultbrowser. If you want to alter this to use, say hv3 or dillo, alter the file /root/.amucrc accordingly. Also alter this if you want jack as the default output.

N.B. Requires jack-0.109.2.pet.

Amuc preliminary test in Puppy Dingo 4

Hi Muggins,

Worked straight away in Puppy Dingo 4

I simply plugged in random notes to verify output and sound.
In depth audit not done.

I had heard that Puppy Dingo 4 might not considered in a stable state yet but so far the only issues I have had with it is the lack of knowledge with commands and input criteria(Console) ie,commands , spaces.case (upper or lower) etc. etc.I am certain most of this I will learn.

There seems to be many music additions users have made but these pets and pups are mostly now on dead links and not auditable.For beginners all this heavy lifting has been done but unfortunately not available for trying. :cry: Using these packages and testing them on various distros ,I would think the way to go.

Ardour,Audacity ,Timidty (midi) ,Rosegarden would be a few I would like to try.Does the user actually need a Complete music distro for their uses ? I just don't know.?

Thanks for your input and package.cheers,bill
