Hi freke

I just checked - March 9th!!!

Maybe you posted in the wrong heading, eh?

I think maybe you should open a new post, in the beginners section [as more people read it!!] and maybe focus on your videocard running in puppy whatever version, such as;

Help needed: NVIDIA GeForce4; problem driving Humax 'TV as monitor' in Puppy 4 [or whatever you are using, & if it will fit! ]

If you explain the dsl setup, there are some probes that can be done to find out what is loaded and presumably, working, yes? [sorry I know of them, not what they are]

Both TV monitors you detail are modern lcd monitors - widescreen I think, so it may be there's a special setting needed in xorg setup, - ask

I'm sure you'll get an answer there

Aitch :)

hi freke
my viewsonic VA1616w with 1366x768 now works fine on xorg, the xorg.conf was modified:
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Card0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 16
Subsection "Display"
Depth 16
Modes "1024x768"
EndSubsection
EndSection
change "1024x768" to "1366x768"
Section "Monitor"
#DisplaySize 350 200 # mm
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "VSC"
ModelName "VA1616wSERIES"
### Comment all HorizSync and VertRefresh values to use DDC:
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 24.0-82.0
VertRefresh 50.0-71.0
#UseModes "Modes0" #monitor0usemodes
Option "PreferredMode" "1024x768"
EndSection
chnage "VertRefresh 50.0-71.0" to
"VertRefresh 50.0-75.0"
chnage Option "PreferredMode" "1024x768" to
Option "PreferredMode" "1366x768"
and restart X, maybe this could help you. have good lucky.
