Subject description: fast & quick alternative audio player

It's a quick and dirty port from Slackware package. I need this for my MMS project. Turn out it's a great audio player. Try it for yourself Smile

From the official website http://alsaplayer.sourceforge.net/ :
Quote:
AlsaPlayer is a new type of PCM player. It is heavily multi-threaded and tries to excercise the ALSA library and driver quite a bit. It has some very interesting features unique to Linux/Unix players. The goal is to create a fully pluggable framework for playback of all sorts of media with the focus on PCM audio data

yes, I'm experience the same problem too Sad the cd play is choppy even if the cpu utilization is low.
Then I try a quick compile from the original code. It's play rather smooth, it only stop (chop) when reading the cd. But when I try to make a package, the process failed. I didn't understand since it's fine on the first build Sad I'll try to build it later, I'm at work now and a little bit tired from my weekend Wink

regards,

Slowgeek

Hi Simpleguy:

On my computer this problem seems to happen with compiz installed. That is, I get choppy playback when compiz is installed regardless of which media player I am using.
