DPups more info

#1 Post by darkcity »

I've been updating the DPup page on the wiki.
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/dpup

Which versions have been missed, and which versions are still maintained?

is http://www.dpup.org dead?

anything else to add to page?

iguleder and pemasu

Iguleder did a Puppy Squeeze Reborn 4.9.9.1 Alpha 2 here, while pemasu has kept on developing dpup exprimo (standard and SMP versions).

I guess iguleder's NEXT is already a different development.

Yep, I revived Puppy Squeeze to trigger the development of dpup puplets, but pemasu, stu90 and others already found their way without this guidance :)

Next Puppy is indeed different, it's the real thing - a "serious" dpup for general usage and not just a base.

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=70399

Iguleders original dpup squeeze specs as base, after that recompile of e17, two different 2.6.39.4 kernel versions. Intel atom (more generic) and multicore optimized, both non PAE kernels.

JWM and E17. More traditional and non stripped debian squeeze based puplets.

Home cooked ffmpeg-0.84, mplayer, gnome-mplayer-gecko-mediaplayer, Seamonkey (atm), latest Pmusic with equalizer, Deadbeef (Iguleders stripped version), laptop goodies, acpi-acpid scripts for suspend, powerbutton, extra support for some new wireless chips.

Updated using latest woof like Iguleders builds.

I hope he's OK. dpup.org is down but gposil still owns the domain until August next year.
