I would like to have the new version of OpenOffice (2.0/1.9.**) for Puppy, especially the Database part of it. The newer version of OpenOffice can also open WordPerfect/Corell files, in addition to MSOffice files, something the older version couldn't.

I think OO is released as RPM-files.

You could try to download them (to the basefolder "/"), then run "unrpm OOwhatever.rpm".

I think OO installs to /opt, so it should not overwrite important files.

You can install "unrpm" using "setup - Dotpupdownloader".
