Tuxcards in 1.0.5 freezes after one node added to tree

Good morning,

Installed tuxcards into 1.0.5, and have found that it freezes after one node is added to the tree. The only choice is to right click on the taskbar and kill the process (in JWM).

I had both qt libraries installed. I tried importing the slackware 10 qt binary off the tuxcards site, and even the statically linked binary, but the same behaviour occurred each time.

Any confirmation?

TIA.

You might use wxB-Card instead:

Thanks, will give it a go - however the tuxcards behaviour is strange, given that it works fine in other linux environments I've tried (and I seem to remember it working in a previous puppy I had).

Just puzzled as to whether it is me or 1.0.5.

Noip ...

Just installed tuxcards, and added a node, no problem in Icewm.

Further to the Tuxcards bug in 1.0.5 ...

I loaded the BlackBox WM (because I had it here) and tried tuxcards. No problem.

SO

It appears that the application freezing only happens using JWM. Pity.

in the last days, some more bugs with JWM were reported here.

So if you encounter Problems with special programs, I would suggest to use another WM.

Fvwm95 and Icewm are supported best (menue-generation).

If you prefer another like Blackbox, this external-menue gives you access to the JWM-menue-entries:

That is probably the cause of your trouble.

Uninstall both, then reinstall just one.

The actual library that Tuxcards was compiled against is the
qt-3.3.4-NO-SQL
which worked fine last time I tried it.

Hmmm, I might get rid of the other one.
Yes, will do that so for 1.0.6 there will only be one to choose from.

Barry,

Did as you suggested (I had already gone back to the SQL library) and uninstalled all and then re-installed the NON SQL lib.

Tuxcards still failed after the node insert in JWM, but behaved fine in Blackbox. I guess I shall have to think about another WM, though I do like JWM ....

Thanks
