I've got some GIMP plugins downloaded that I want to use. They require Gimp-Perl, which I've downloaded and need to compile. Only problem is I need gimptool. Where can I find this?

Instead of compiling dependencies one by one, I would recommend installing the slackware package.

You can download it from here http://www.slackware.com/pb/download.php?q=10.0/gimp-2.0.2-i486-1

Installing it is quite easy. I would recommend to install it first in a test pup file before doing it in your stable environment as slackware package are not always compatible with the libraries included in Puppy.

Download the gimp-2.0.2-i486-1.tgz file to / and execute the following commands:

Code:

cd /
tar -xvzPf gimp-2.0.2-i486-1.tgz
install/doinst.sh

Please not that the download is 10 MB and it installs 27 MB.

That's it.

Here's a more complete answer. Our compiling environment (usr_devx.sfs) does not contain any of the Gimp development headers. If you want to compile Gimp plugins you will either need to compile Gimp yourself or get a package that has the headers in it.

If you have any specific plugins in mind I might be able to have a go myself. Let me know. Alternatively, I could possibly make a Gimp package for you that would include the headers and other things neccessary for compiling against (Although it would be quite a bit larger that way). Just don't ask me to include python support, too.
