Personally, I think PDF sucks. I prefer html.

I agree with you. PDF really sucks! One time, I have to go to an internet cafe to print a document, their pdf for windows didnt print the characters thats supposed to be there. Even we have change some settings, and layout for the printer it didnt do good either. Waste of time, waste of money Sad

Rolling Eyes

Funny thing Linux - you have to write you own manual - when you start - we join in - after all who did you think was going to write the beginners and new users section? PDF is for printed output, HTML is for screen output. I would start with ASCII (which I think stands for American Standard Character Information Interchange - I suppose I could look it up on Google but guess someone else will do it for me?) It is plain text only . . .

Come on guys - less jaw more paw Rolling Eyes

It could and does stand for Amsterdam Subversive Center for Information Interchange but most people know it as American Standard Code for Information Interchange like you said, but not just text, I used to have a stack of mark-sense cards that would print out a naked woman on a PDP11 it only used text though

Goofy - woof woof

Smile Thanks for the clarification Smile
One of the most fun things on knoppix (fun for geeks that is) is a Demo from Eastern Europe. Basically these guys had a bunch of old hercules screens (so the story goes) but decided to do a graphics demo in Linux using images made up of text only . . .
I loved that demo . . . anybody else seen it? Is it on the lastest knoppix? I used to be on Klaus Knoppers mailing list and it was my first serious attempt to be a penguin.

I am gonna start a new thread on this . . . watch out for Linux Virgins . . . Embarassed
