Adobe Flash Player 10.1_RC, 10.0.45.2 and Flash 9.0.262.0
Have been trying firepup (customised firefox 1.5, security hardened from Red Hat packaged my ttuxxx) and it seems very stable, and fast on older computers.
Over the last few years I have noticed a trend of firefox becoming gradually more and more unstable with flash. This early version of firefox 1.5/flash 10 seems very stable so perhaps it is mozillas doing.
Any code, open or closed, should be able to recover from serious errors before they become crashes. Buggy proprietry code like flashplayer should be "wrapped" or encapsulated (to give it its proper programming term), so that crashes dont bring down the system. Since firefox is the host platform, it is the mozilla developers that should take into account flashes erratic behaviour and code around it, whether they hate it for ideological reasons or not.
I look after about 100 pc's running puppy (at least I havnt kept track) in the local area and the firefox/flash crash issue is one of the biggest complaints about it. If a Firepup/Flash 10 combo as a main browser gets around that then firefox 1.5 is still best linux web browser out there for us.

Sorry, my server is down atm!
This requires a newer one, it is for example part of firefox./root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so: /usr/lib/mozilla/libnss3.so: version ` NSS_3.11' not found (required by /root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so)
This is really bad./root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' no t found (required by /root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so)
libstdc++.so.6 => /root/my-applications/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0x40a70000)
It requires a new glibc, which is a fundamental part of Puppy.
It is not trivial to install it.
You might try wows unnamed puplet with newer glibc:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=36592
Newyearspup02 rc1 Mini/Midi/Maxi (based on wows) includes this flash already:

Ok, yet another stupid question from newbie
I have an opera and seamonkey. I've installed flashplayer 10, and - i cannot pass test on adobe site in Opera, but seamonkey seems to work properly (altought slow as usual).
i used ldd /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so - it's a place where opera have a plugin - and i have message that there is no such file.
Can i manually put libflashplayer.so into this directory?
It seems that flashplayer 10 haven't installed properly in Opera.

yes it should be as is.I have SeaMonkey 1.1.11 and would like to install the newest flash. Is it compatible or should I get a newer version of SeaMonkey? (there's a .pet for that, right?)
I'm running Puppy 4.1.2 with my settings saved to a USB stick.
4.12 benefits from the update(s) I mention here
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=45873

Hi, many thanks for that pet !
Adobe test tells "OK! 10.0.32 installed" (clik on "about" near the logo)
But Seamonkey could not even load some video from our national broadcast company's website nor play them, since a few days, as they have updated their system - with upgrade link suggested to the Adobe upgrade webpage.
Stranges was that Seamonkey 's Menu/Help/About Plug-ins told "shockwave flash 9.0r48" to be still present...?! (should be 10.0r32)
the above pet had installed the new 10MB libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/seamonkey1.1.11/plugins only.
solution: shutdown seamonkey's running applications;
manually copy and replace the old 7MB libflasplayer.so in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins (*), start Seamonkey and its done !
cheers, charlie

I updated from 10.0.32.18 and now when i open firefox or seamonkey they crash randomly, or when I get to a website that has flash. I also have Opera and Opera runs fine, doesnt crash, and on adobes site it does say I have 10.0.42.34 so it seems to have installed properly. Therefore I had to go back to 10.0.32. Any thoughts to what may be the issue.?
I am not a Mac, not a PC... I am a Puppy. :idea:
Flash player ten not working with opera
Hi there! I downloaded your latest postings of Opera, Java, and Flash 10, but can't seem to get Opera to recognize flash. It acts as if flash hasn't been installed. The dependency checker says Opera and Flash are fine, but freezes on java.
I'm running barebones based on 4.3.1, trying to make a custom puppy for someone who has no clue what they're doing...
Thanks for any pointers, I find plenty of existing help for firefox, but not opera. I may try starting firefox instead, but there seem to be a lot of reports of instability...
