if you are using Icewm, press ctrl+alt+P

in any window manager (Icewm, JWM, Fvwm95, Fluxbox) click MtPaint Screen Capture in the Graphics menu

if you want, select an area of the picture using the mouse, and click Image, Crop

save the picture by clicking File, Save As (or press ctrl+shift+S)
