How do I save wifi config to USB so it restores on reboot?

How to save the config when seting wifi configuration to auto restore at boot?
( i use a USB drive to save PUPPPY config)

Comment sauvegarder la configuration du wifi et la retrouver au demarage ?

Open the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file with the leafpad or beaver text editor and add the same commands you type to that file.

They will be executed next time you boot up.

Before use wifi, i must be type "insmod -v zd1211.o"
Can i put it on rc.local ?
Where i must be copy zd1211.o file ?
Or if another way ??

Take a look at my wiki page on ndiswrapper for reference. Scroll down to the section "Making the process automatic at boot."

Ignore, of course, the ndiswrapper part if you are not usng ndiswrapper.

Where is the zd1211.o file now? You should use it as the first entry in the rc.local file. So, if it is in the root folder, try;

insmod -v /root/zd1211.o

Modify what I wrote for the iwconfig entries with your usual settings.

Different wireless drivers create different interface names. Your ZD1211 driver creates "wlan0" ... I think. Run "ifconfig -a" to check.
When you compiled this driver, the installation process probably ran "depmod" which maps the location of the driver, so you won't need to specify the driver's location when loading it (it's probably at /lib/modules/2.4.29/net/zd1211_mod.o). I presume you have a full Type2 hard drive installation of Puppy.

So these are the lines you need to add to /etc/rc.d/rc.local -

modprobe zd1211_mod
(... maybe not necessary, if Puppy automatically loads this module already, check with "lsmod")

iwconfig wlan0 essid MY_ESSID key 1234567890 mode Managed
dhcpcd -t 20 -h puppypc -d wlan0
