Booted 1.0.4 with option 5. Now what are these errors?

#1 Post by novice-extraordinare »

HiHo puppys

I am ( see my name )

I use Puppy 1.0.4 on a machine that has 2 Hard Drives and 2 CD Roms with Amd Athelon XP 1.7 gh processor 768 mb of DDR-Ram.

I preffer to run Puppy as livecd totally in ram as I plan to use another computer with AMD K62 with no hard drive and 256 mb of RAM.

Before I do that I wanted to make sure that I have Customized my Puppy exactly as I would like it to be so I Burned a CD with 1.0.4 ISO while in Windows XP (Pro), Booted with option 5 and customized it, Saved the session and ReBooted. Every thing was fine but I saw some Errors while screen was running fast. Puppy booted fine anyways but those errors bother me. Here they are . I coppied them from /var/log/messages

My question is 2 part.
1: Howcome puppy boots fine when it encounters so many errors ?
2: Is this going to affect me when I migrate to my Junk Computer ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Linux is like a old boared woman.

It talks and talks and talks...

What you see in the messages are warnings.
Different to errors, these are not critical.

Warnings are mostly intended to advise programmers, to be not so lazy, and to optimize their code.

The code works, but it might work microseconds faster, if they would optimize it.

The new multisession-DVD Puppy works much better:

But, you need a DVD burner.
I bought one last week, supports multi-layer, just A$60. I think someone
in the USA mentioned US$45.

That was probably me, and it was $40 for the burner. :)

It's also worth noting that, per megabyte, quality DVDs are cheaper than no-name CDs, and more rugged. And most of the burning software seems to work better, with fewer problems and confusion.

Why would anyone still use a CD?
