A broken link (1).ini in/root. What is up with that ?

#1 Post by Koala »

Hey everybody.

I newby needs a little help here.

I use Puppy 1.0.4 as multrisession LiveCD runing totally in Ram Disk. It is working fine for me and stable for a month or so. I am saving my data from time to time and no problems.

Heck! What is the problem then ? One might ask.

Well!, it is rather an observation than a problem if you will. I found a broken Symlink in my /root directory with the name (1).ini with ERROR on top of it.

It points to /mnt/home(1).ini which is obviously not there. Since it did not serve me any purpose, I Deleted it. I then, tried to shut down and tried to save session, it showed me an error stating Cant read from folder xxx and sut down without saving anything.

I rebooted and the file was there, of course. and it is always there. Well! this does not cause any problems for me but it just annoys me. How the heck did it get written there and who the heck created it ? And more so, why if it is deleted Puppy is not able to save any sessions ?

Can some one please explain :?:

Thanks

I have no idea why you got that file or what it does.

Anyway, the way to go now is multisession DVD, it works much better.

I'll be uploading a new iso file in a day or two, specifically for
multisession DVD.

Multisession DVD? This is perfect!

...and on my Birthday Saturdy (the big 50)!

Thanks Barry!
I love it when a plan comes together
