the account setup needs more work
some of the the entry boxes are too short

I think it should ship with no account details and remind you on startup if there is not a valid account section in the config file. It would be good to get some indicator of logging in taking place.

There is a problem getting pjsua to shutdown cleanly if the main window is closed using the JWM X in the top right corner.
Gtkdialog has a bug that prevents a dialog with a menubar from exiting properly, this means there is no way to signal pjsua to shutdown, this leaves all the other backgrounded processes running. The only solutions I can think of are:
1. removing the menubar
2. just telling people not to use it

Does anyone else have a solution. The problem is particularly hard as sometimes people may want to leave psip running for long periods of time without using it so as to receive incoming calls.

I was just about to suggest the same thing.

Can we just put the quit function on a button and not the menu bar?

Is there a way of disabling JWM X in the top right corner?

You would have to remove the entire menubar.

It is possible in the jwm config to specify that a specific program window should have no title bar. This does make it harder to drag the window around and is not a perfect solution.

HarryWill,
I think that perhaps this is what you were asking,
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... a8b447400b

I know that xmms has the option to hide window decorations. I am not sure how it does it though.

I think that as far as the information in user config goes it should have the default username as YourSipName
YourPassword
The rest of the information could be in the help file.

I need to get a machine with Dingo going so I can test the newer versions.
Puppy Linux...
It just works!

Thanks Peppy - this is the relevant bit
go to your root directory in Rox and right click on a space then click display and show hidden files. Then find the file .jwmrc and click on it to open in the geany text editor. If you the scroll down past the menu stuff you will come to the group options. There is already an option for Gaim (option sticky), I copied this section and then change the option on the second entry to "notitle". Then when I opened Gaim it's window opened with no title.

<Group>
<Class>Gaim</Class>
<Option>sticky</Option>
</Group>
<Group>
<Class>Gaim</Class>
<Option>notitle</Option>
</Group>

So it's just a matter of putting the program name between the <Class> labels and the notitle between the <Option> labels.
Of course if you do this you will have to close the program window from it's menu because there will be no "X" in the top right corner.
I was thinking of going back to Freebasic but I do not feel that is
the best option.

Release schedule:

Smokey 0.9.7
Will 0.9.8
Lobster 0.9.9

With 3 programmers release often
Smokey if you can release today that would be great.

I am now gonna try and register another sip number - not through Gizmo :)

Suggestions:
We need to get the core working again (Call and voicemail)
Can we temporarily turn off anything that may be causing problems (the message boxes and refresh) and introduce them one by one?

Possible icons from a new artist. . .. If they are unable, we can try our main artist - who is working on icons - actually will see what he can come up wth too - two sets of icon - why not :)

I tried these two SIP services that CEL mentioned
freecall.com
callcentric.com

Callcentric offered me a number 17772318595
but not sure what to do with it . . .

Very new to all this . . .

Thanks Charni,

This version is suggested by Newcrest:
http://www.sjphone.org/preview/SJphone- ... (preview)/
and extract files with full path to /

Like Twinkle it is a lot bigger than pjsua (the engine for PSIP)

Born after much sweat, blood and swearing.....probably like most of us, here is the next release of psip. It seems to work well for me.

0.9.8 hairywill
Packaged as a pet.
Trying really hard to kill any processes left hanging and cleaning up on start as well.
Trying to disable the multiple calls function to get it working properly with one
Modified the call and answer buttons and menu entries to stop you from being able to start more than one call.
Converted the hangup button to send \nha\n hangup all calls.
Popups for dialing out, incoming calls, buddy status change, incoming IMs
Made the account details editor smarter.
New icons.

Notes:
You can still only have one account.
The interface cannot cope with multiple current calls and there is no feature to hangup an individual call.
If you get a second incoming call whilst you are already on one, the only sensible strategy is to let it ring until it cancels itself otherwise you will lose/kill your current call.
It will not talk to Gizmo on Linux (Windows is OK) this a problem with pjsua<->Gizmo

If it works with these limitations then I will add multiple call functionality in the future. If it doesn't work at all then I'm not going to take this path further and will consider hacking the pjsua code to get a gtk client written in C.

@Still losing buddy list after a call..
@ Lobster,
Tried to answer you , but nothing happened????

@ Well, just had a nice talk with Caneri using psip. Worked well between us. We tried to conference with you (Lobster), but were SOL.

Clean looking interface, I think it could use some text lables for the buttons.
I found this interesting.
Oh dear, pjsua-output-reader has closed. This is not supposed to happen. Try restarting Psip usig the network menu.
I am running 3.01 and unfortunately the last working version for this series seems to be 0.7 Everything after that had sound problems on my thinkpads. I will try the new .pet on a clients Dingo machine before I shop it tomorrow and report.
Puppy Linux...
It just works!

:) Hi Guys,

Been chatting with Will - he is getting desperate
(I could hear the soundtrack from 'Grease' being played . . .)
It is serious . . .

Some of us are finding 0.9.8 works OK
Others are limited to conversation of 1-6 minutes

OK
What we have and what we need to establish:

Long time users:

We need you to report on:
1. Which version you are using
2. Time conversations
3. Run from the command line
4. run 'top' from a console and keep an eye on CPU usage and report
what Pjsua is doing
5. Are you using xorg or xvesa

New users:
- give us your sip name and number so we can add you to the buddy list
- use the program and report back - we are particularly interested in
how long your conversations are and any of the above info

Coders:

Look at Will's code it is in usr/local/psip
Any glaring mistakes?
Something wrong with the piping?

Researchers:
Join the Pjsua forum and report back any tips on if the new version is working and stable - anything else you feel might be useful . . .

Thanks guys :)

Thank you for using some icons which I designed.

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=30995

However, I am not satisfied with those icons.
And I designed the another icons.
