@Wolf Pup:

I downloaded the latest version and tried it on Dingo. Normal browsing was okay.

But when I tried fullscreen on Youtube, it did show fullscreen and then when I tried closing the window, firefox crashed. Is there a fix for this?

BTW, Thanks for the updated packages.

Firefox has been updated from 2.0.0.14 - 2.0.0.15 - 2.0.0.16
maybe should test the latest?
Also I starting to like IceCat its basically firefox but a bit smaller and totally open-source no propriety software.

Thanks which make me wonder. Does the IceCat have flash built in or does that one have to be added which is a to newbies difficult thing?

That they froze and only way to get it out of that state
was to do ctrl+alt+ <- backspace?

Maybe I should wait until we have stable versions for linux?

I mean my brain go haywaire when I look at adobes text

I can chose among these three ways.

Here are the missing gnome dependencies, I've also included all the symlinks that puppy didn't know where to look.

That was the needed fix. The only install that allowed me to look at
playrapport.se but as others have pointed out. The fix freezes FF
to that page and the only way to get out of it a complete reboot.

So how do we fix this? :)

when it freeze it doesn't help to try to stop FF in the manager either. Don't take clicks. Nothing happens. Only complete reboot works.

Puppy are in good company, none of the other small distros get
firefox doing flash for me.

Others talk about an alternativ name gnash short from "gnome flash"

Does that one work better for puppy then?

Hi. I've got Firefox 2.0.0.16 in my other distro (Zenwalk); can anyone tell me whether or not it's possible to copy it and its associated files over to Puppy and have it work there, thus upgrading my current, rather outdated version of Firefox (1.5.0.12)? It would save a lot of hassle with upgrading two sets of browsers, one for each distro, were this possible.

Thanks in advance,

Colonel Panic.

So far no one's replied. Fair enough, but does this mean it's not doable? It's not a major problem to download the pets for Firefox 2.0.0.16 or 3.01.

Well it could work, Firefox is usually located in usr/lib/firefox
that folder would have to be copied
Also it might be using the flash from usr/lib/mozilla so that would have to be copied
and also root/.mozilla that contains your themes, sometimes flash, plugins settings, cookies etc so that would have to be copied
thats just off the top of my head, I don't have FF installed at this time on my testing pc.
You would have to delete the folders in first on puppy or move them to another out-of-the way location as for a backup, do this at your own risk of you losing you settings for firefox/seamonkey, Might want to try it first running live :) with puppy pfix=ram as your boot option

Thanks for the info, I might try that. I've got a backup copy of my puppy save file (pza_save.2fs), so I wouldn't need to run it from RAM.

Thanks once again, but in the event I went back to Firefox 2.0.0.3 which updated to 2.0.0.16 of its own accord, which took just over an hour on dialup.

I took your advice for Flock 1.2.4 though, and it did work :)

This PET trashed my Firefox in 3.01.

I now have two menu entries for Firefox, neither is labeled as to version and neither loads.

The desktop icon also fails to load Firefox.

I see activity that suggests Firefox is trying to load but it fails.

I am using Dillo at the moment.

Can I back out of the failed install or is there some other SIMPLE way to fix what it broke, please?

HELP, PLEASE?
