I recently tried this Live CD version of Mandriva 198 meg

It uses XfCE - very polished. The last time I used a live CD from Mandriva (Mandrake) it took about 3 mins to load and well I would rather not bother . . .
It is about the same size as Mandrake. I must say I do tend to compare Puppy with these bigger distros because they are the nearest comparison. Puppy offers more but the bigger versions look better. This was a pleasurable experience. Worth a look if you have a fast connection and a spare CD
Back in the Peach (aka Puppy 1.0.5)
