I've got an Apacer HandySteno (HN212) 2G USB flash drive. I'd love to have Puppy Linux on it so that I could have a complete OS in my pocket along with all my other data and software.
I go through the USB install steps from the Chubby Puppy Live CD, and it appears to work correctly. But when I attempt to boot from the USB drive, I just get a blank screen with a blinking underscore _ Nothing else happens, and it doesn't respond to any keystrokes.
I've tried this on serveral different computers, all with the same result. And I know this drive is bootable, as I'd installed DOS on it and gotten that to boot successfully.
The drive is formatted with FAT32, if that makes any difference.
USB boots to blank screen, nothing happens
Re: USB problem
Same problem here. What partion type number 06 or 13?
The syslinux is buggy. It unmounts the drive, then makes it bootable?!
Where can I find a ggod syslinux?

I ended up downloading the latest version of syslinux from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/. That seemed to do the trick.
