Im using puppylinux 4 in a pentium 3 450mhz with 128mb.

And Im having trouble to put xorg to work with a trident 9660 1mb of vram.

I put the resolution that my video card and monitor suports with the right color depth, with the right horizontal and vertical synch of the monitor.

I tried 640x480-16 too, and it didint work (even with generic driver).

The only method that work to access an X is by Xvesa.

thanks

I have a Thinkpad 760XL with a 1M VRAM Trident Cyber9385 chipset, part of the TGUI9660 family. 1M isn't enough to run 800x600 16bpp with accelleration enabled. Try editing xorg.conf, uncommenting the Option "NoAccel" line and changing it to Option "NoAccel" "True"

I didn't find that Xorg worked on my old CRT or my new LCD; but it doesn't matter because Xvesa works perfect on both, and I can change the resolutions easily also.
