I have been volunteered to help out with a local scout group. They want to join JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet) in October. The easy part is a radio connection to the Internet. Now I am on the scrounge for PCs.
At the moment I can lay my hands on five laptops of varying vintage. On each one I hope to have a webcam and a mic. Obviously the solution for the operating system is puppy. I'll make a .sfs overlay or overlays with the applications needed in addition to the standard distribution. I may need to make some for particular hardware combinations ( I have two possibly three EEEPCs).
Now the really hard bit, What IRC client should I use? It would be nice if the kids can type to each other, talk and given enough bandwidth actually see each other.
