Load additional soundcard instead of intergrated sound

I tried to make my subject as descriptive as possible, but there wasn't enough room.
Basically, I want to use a different soundcard instead of the one that's integrated in the motherboard.
This was no problem in Puppy 2 cause ALSA didn't pick up on the integrated card, it would just skip over it and pick my add on soundcard.
I'm currently running Puppy 3 of a live CD.
I'm sure there's some way I can get it to read my additional sound card but I just don't know how. Thanks!
