The vanilla monster from the console? Subject description: Midnight Commander 4.1.X-MP (mc-4.1.40-pre9 t2 package) |
|
Hello,
is anybody out there who happened to give Midnight Commander 4.1.X-MP a try with Puppy?
( see: http://www.t2-project.org/packages/7.0/mc-mp.html )
I am happily running mc 4.6.1/4.6.1pre1
(midnight.commander.plus by AlienX with Puppy217 and the same with the fix by Bruce B with Puppy400 Dingo - thank you very much, indeed).
Apart from the newer 4.61pre* and forthcoming 4.7.x I wonder what this "improved partly backported prior-gnome-retro mc" is like - apart from the heavenly use of colors as seen in the screenshots on http://mc.linuxinside.com/cgi-bin/dir.cgi. I, myself, prefer the "norton-commander-blue)
T2 package-page for 4.1.X-MP lists some patches which will probably exeed my learning curve. So I am asking here for advice and your opinion and hints on mc, generally.
regards,
Vel
