rxvt ignores keyboard input

When I use rxvt for a while doing copy & pastes, and alt-tabbing, for some reason rxvt stops processing or receiving keyboard input.
There doesn't seem to be an exact sequence that will reproduce this behavior, has anyone else had this problem?

i've noticed rxvt locks up if you type in certain ctrl chars
