Buddapup.dingo (unable to import themes)

#1 Post by clyde9 »

I downloaded 20 or more themes and only one of them will work in Buddapup.dingo 4.0. The rest of them get this message:
Enlightenment was unable to import the theme. Are you sure this is really a valid theme?
These themes work fine in other OS versions I am using, but not in Buddapup. Not sure why. :?: I do appreciate any help.

:D Hello,
Im guessing "Night Bling" and the default gold theme are the only 2??
If you have another that works, clue me in, as these 2 are all Ive been able to get to work. I would love to incorperate more themes in "Serenity" (Buddapup Dingo) but havnt had much luck. Maybe its the release of E-17 I used, IDK..
If I discover any more, I will post them on the Buddapup Thread on the forum..
Also, user Runtt21 is developing with E-17 as well, and might have gotten a few more to work, IDK, but might be worth asking..
Im thinking that the other themes may be specific to Enlightenment`s own live CD, Elive. Have D/L`d it, but have not had a chance to dig into it yet...Also GOS uses E-17, so I may D/L and pick at it too. But it is `butu so.....

P.S. If you have release specific questions, ie Buddapup Dingo, posting them in the releases own thread will get you faster, developer specific responses..

Hi Jay, Puppyluvr,
If you have another that works, clue me in
darkness_by_saturn_vk.edj also works. It is a very nice theme. It is the last theme on the link below.

also
P.S. If you have release specific questions, ie Buddapup Dingo, posting them in the releases own thread will get you faster, developer specific responses..
I will look for this forum and post there too.

P.S. Thank you so much for responding to the post Jay.

Hello clyde9, I ran into the same problem building a new puppy with the .217.sfs of enlightenment,The same one Budda pup uses, Most of the newer themes and stuff dont work with it. So I installed the latest version of E17 from source , It has some little issues but so far all of the themes and backgrounds I have tried with it have worked.I am 2-3 weeks away from having a working .ISO but if you want to install it that way I can tell you how, BUT, it is a major Task to do.

:D @ Clyde9,
Yes, that is the thread....
@ Runtt21,
Have you tried to compile the e-utils yet.
I am trying to install e17setroot but have recieved
# ./e17setroot
ERROR: Enlightenment cannot set up the IPC socket.
Did you specify the right display?
Can't connect to enlightenment, perhaps we are not on :0.0!
So Im trying to figure that one out...
If you need I have all the RPM libs needed for e17setroot, I could tar `em up for ya...

hi runtt21,

per your previous quote
I can tell you how, BUT, it is a major Task to do.
I will be very happy to wait for the release. At present I have buddapup.dingo (4.0) installed. Thanks so much for your reply too!!
