streamtuner (with shoutcast-fix)

#1 Post by aragon »

Home: http://www.nongnu.org/streamtuner/
Version: 0.99.99-2

There are a few packages for streamtuner but in the older ones shoutcast will not work any longer, due to a change at the shoutcast homepage (http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=33515).

This is a patched version for puppy including some patches from ubuntu and debian and some for puppy (player, browser). It uses gxine as player (via a little script by EdB).

If you wan't to record you'll need streamripper. I've compiled an actual package see here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=232722

Compiled and tested in 4.31 (will not work on version before 4.3). If you want to compile for another puppyversion, there is also a package with the patch, the run-script and a little explanation).

cheers

Thank you very much for updating this app. Ever since Shoutcast stopped working it's been a real pain.
Installed in Pizza Pup 3.0 but the console reports:

sh-3.00# streamtuner
streamtuner: error while loading shared libraries: libpixman-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Anyway to include this library?

Thanks.

Puppy 3.0 Series Version
Hi I added the lib and changed the default to default browser, but I think it should be using BMP not gxine. Enjoy :)

hi ttuuxxx,

the reason why i didn't setup with defaultbrowser has been, that i don't wanted to include the config in /root/.streamtuner. I had success with changing the stream-settings from xmms to the gxine-script in sources but unfortunately not the one for the browser (as they seem to appear in several source-files).

i'm also using streamtuner with another audio-player (aqualung) but gxine is in dingo so - in my opinion - a package should use it as a default ;-) .

cheers

Thank you, ttuuxxx. But now it seems streamtuner requires this library:

sh-3.00# streamtuner
streamtuner: error while loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

How can I tell in advance all the requisite libraries?

hi ttuuxxx,

Here we go again:

sh-3.00# streamtuner
streamtuner: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /usr/lib/libpixman-1.so.0)

Eventually we'll nail this!

Dear Puppians,

Streamtuner - the package listed here - works in Puppy 3.01 if you install libpixman from the Slackware distribution. Since the package is small, I have included the pet here.

With kind regards,
vovchik

Thank you, ttuuxxx. Your last update did the trick! At least we have Shoutcast once again.

@magerlab-

Yes it is but I'm at work and can't remember where / how. There must be a pref or options in streamtuner somewhere?

I save mine to a folder outside of my pup_save.
I fire it up and record songs for hours from The Eagle-181.FM.
Then a simple swap to my mp3 player with gnomad2.

Life is good...

@magerlab

if i remember right, edit settings in streamtuner like

Code: Select all

streamripper %s -d /your/directory
please test, as i'm at another pc at the moment.

After updating streamtuner in Pizza Pup, I did the same on my wife's pc. She uses Simple Pup (Puppy version 1.0.7, released Dec 2005). The console then reported I needed "libXau.so.6". I downloaded it from ttuuxxx's library site (even though it said it was 0KB in size). Now the console says:

# streamtuner
streamtuner: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libXau.so.6: file too short

Am I correct in assuming that because the library file was 0 KB that this is what "file too short" means?

Help!

I am not sure why the "0" size files are listed on that site.

Try the libXau.so.6.0.0 (7kb) and symlink it to libXau.so.6

In streamtuner:
Edit > Preferences > General
Then choose the music folder you want.
