Subject description: Linux Emulator for Mario Games? |

Ya sure http://www.mariogame.info/games/SMF_v2.0.swf
right click on the link, "Save As" then click on it, Full screen its too large, but if you resize your browser screen it looks fine, and works out of the box with sound.[//quote]
Up and running smoothly and the 6yr old is having lots of fun. Thanks!

Thanks! Looks safe ... though I am happier when he is simply offline entirely as he tends to surf when he gets bored ... |
If your using FirePup or have another browser with Flashblock plugin, you'll get a "f" in the middle of the screen that you have to click to enable the flash game, movie etc, but with Flashblock if you right click on the 'f' it says "Copy Flash Location" <---- select that
then simply click menu/internet/ Axel download accelerator and paste the link, a couple of clicks later you have the game locally in root

if your using seamonkey you need to install it, here's a link
http://downloads.mozdev.org/flashblock/flashblock-1.3.10.xpi
just install it and restart your browser, then you will surf faster on sites with flash and will be able to download any flash movies, games etc

I saved the .xpi file but when I click on it I am being asked if I want to add to an existing archive or create a new one (or something like that).
How should I handle this, please?

What would you say are the minimum requirements to run these games, please?
I am thinking of taking the time to port them to an older laptop to get him off my wife's desktop.

I'm running a Dell CPx 500MHz PIII w/ 128MB RAM
Sonic is too slow to play
Mario is too slow to play, although there's another version that isn't full screen that plays better.
I've played a tank game that works good and there's a sonic type game called Fancy Pants that works pretty good.
I'm thinking that you'd need about twice the RAM I have on this machine to run most of these efficiently. However, I was running them in Seamonkey which is still my default browser. I haven't tried them in Firepup which I use most of the time.

Is the tank game a .PET or otherwise simple to install for Puppy?
What about Sonic Fancy Pants?

Hey edoc,
I put four of the flash games that work on this machine I've been playing with up on my website. You can get them at
http://www.wisdom-seekers.com/puppy/puppystuff.html
Just right click and Save Link As should do it.
The archive file has:
Super Mario World
Fancy Pants (that's the Sonic type game)
Indestructible Tank
Pacman
I just put them in the /root/my-applications/ directory and then click on them from there. Seamonkey opens and starts the game in the browser.
Enjoy,
Sully
