We already have block_rage_0.2.3.pet but the children seem to enjoy a variety of block games.
Eh... What about sendspace? Can I use that one? Or 4shared?

My intent was not to instruct you what to use or not to use, that is entirely up to you.

I just wanted those who might follow that link to be aware of the unexpected content - some parents (esp. of teens) and some adults (with addictions to bad stuff on the Internet) try to limit their exposure to temptation. (It is the counselor, parent, and pastor in me speaking, I suppose.)

I shouldn't have mentioned the possible car race game ... now that's all they keep asking about! Arghhhhh!

Anyone tried to .PET this one?
http://torcs.sourceforge.net/

Will do some searches, perhaps one of them has been made into a .PET or .PUP someone.

In the meanwhile I found this small repository of Puppy Linux games:
http://puppylinux.org/wiki/archives/old ... tion/games

Woah! Here's a load of Linux games!

Hi Doc,

I petted Torcs, but haven't been able to test as I my laptop doesn't support Xorg. If you want to have a go it's here.

Scavenger and Holtz's Castle petted on the first page of this topic but it seems the others you mention haven't been petted yet.

If you try out Torcs, let me know how it goes.

That Sendspace site doesn't render properly in Seamonkey - I get everything except for the link at the bottom.

I tried adding Session Cookies, Images, & Popups and it still doesnt work.

Ok I downloaded it with firefox, The menu item had no icon, so I made a link to one, Then I looked at the size, 5.3MB that is big for that type of game, So I had a look at the program and figured out that it came with 3 alternative themes, One theme in particular was 4MB so I deleted it and now it has 2 themes and its under half the size, 2.3MB and I renamed it Xbubble-lite.
I also uploaded the full version 5.3MB and that one has an icon also, both can be found at http://www.puppylinux.asia/tpp/ttuuxxx/programs/games/

Sorry Edoc, forgot to mention it requires OpenGL.

I think you need to install:

xorg_xorg_dri-7.3-1.pet either from here or from from Petget.

Thats part of openGL or mesa, On puppy 3.0.1 it was real easy to get it going, but the later version of 4.0 is more difficult, I've totally given up on openGL, Well I do run live and reset the pc around every 3 days unless I'm working on something really big, then it could be a month. But as openGL goes I just haven't had a real need for it. Sorry if I can't help on this one. :? Your best bet would be downgrade your OS, to 3 series, actually I think its somewhat an upgrade in certain situations

I have GLh.pet and libSDL_full.pet loaded but torcs keeps saying that it needs those dependencies.

When I use Console/rxvt for torcs it flags libglut as missing.

Need PET for Typing Tutor

#92 Post by edoc »

Our children have "oddly" misplaced their MS-dependent Typing Tutor CD.

Rather than try to locate it or waste funds acquiring a replacement I'd really love to be able to use a typing tutor-type program that runs under Puppy.

Anyone have a .pet for that, please?
Thanks! David

Welcome back Edoc. Hope you had a good holiday.

There are three typing programs I know of available for Pup.

Klavaro

Gtypist

And there's TuxType, but I can't find the post anymore. It's a dotpup so I'll see about uploading a pet.

torcs is completely unresponsive from MENU-FUN

torcs from Console generates this error:
/usr/lib/torcs/torcs-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libglut.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
