A fat-free version of the latest Qt4 toolkit libraries

A must have for running Opera,Webkit based browsers, various OpenGL games,VirtualBox,console/computer emulators and much more.

This one includes all the plugins and libs (unlike the outdated,stripped-down package available via the Puppy installer)

http://stashbox.org/241548/qt4-4.4.2.pet
(for Puppy 4)

Download,install and enjoy :)

NOTE: The 'brand new' Qt 4.4.3 that was released 2 days ago is nothing more than a rebranded version of Qt 4.4.2 with the NOKIA/Qt Software logos.

It was created specifically for Puppy 4.x,but it might work in Puppy 3 as well.

Haven't tested it yet on the 3.x series, but you can do that without changing anything on your PC:

Just insert the 3.x live CD,boot with pfix=ram, install the pet, install some Qt apps and test.

Thanks for this, ttuuxxx's 4.4.1 has been working well; this is smaller isn't it? Something has been weird for me though. I downloaded the .pet and I got a .gz that I couldn't open. I'll be testing it with Arora as soon as I can get it downloaded properly.

3 and 4 have different qt versions and $QT(4)DIR values.

on puppy 3x it's qt3x:

'echo $QTDIR'
/usr/lib/qt

on puppy 4x it's qt4x

'echo $QT4DIR'
/opt/qt4

so installing this on puppy 3 might very well break some things. although a dual install is possible and there is a qt3 compatibility switch for qt4. although i've never had much luck with it.

is there a way to configure appearance of qt4 apps anyhow
something like qt-config for qt3
or if i have qtrc for qt3 is it possible to use it for qt4 apps?

Dear Magerlab,

The way to get qt4 apps to look decent is to use the GTK style - it will make qt4 apps match the style of GTK2 apps. Copy the file libgtkstyle.so into your /opt/qt4/plugins/styles folder and run qtconfig (for qt4). It is in /opt/qt4/bin. If you don't have it, I have attached it. Select GTK as the style and say "save" in the file menu. Both files are in the archived attachment.

Thanks.....works fine

Is there an sfs available? I attempted to use petmaker to convert it...but that didn't seem to work.

Thanks

Hello,
How to get qtconfig gui running in French or other locale? There is a directory called "translations" inside /opt/qt4 but I don't know how to make it be taken into account by the application. Do I need a full install of qt4?

I also uploaded the qt-styles.tar.bz2 of vovchik, but don't see how to config this option.
Thank you for your attention.

Cordialement.

Where can I fit Qt4 suitable for use with QtWebkit Qupzilla Slimboat in 2014?
For glibc 2.10 (Wary 5.5) or older.
